bneXt Innovation Academy deepened its Cybersecurity Awareness Month initiative by teaming up with the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP)to host a compelling session on Ethical Hacking last 29 October 2025.
The session brought together a diverse group of business leaders, legal professionals, entrepreneurs, and IT practitioners for an engaging discussion on the fundamentals of ethical hacking and its critical role in today’s digital landscape. Participants explored how hackers think, the different types of hackers, and why ethical hacking is essential for building proactive security strategies.
Through real-world case studies and interactive dialogue, the seminar emphasized how organizations can strengthen cyber resilience by understanding the ethical hacking process and recognizing why having ethical hackers is vital for uncovering vulnerabilities before malicious actors do.
The Q&A session reflected the depth of engagement, with participants raising practical questions such as “Do we still need external ethical hackers if we already have an internal IT team?”, “How can we upskill employees across different departments—not just IT—for cybersecurity readiness?”, and “What are some of the most common vulnerabilities or oversights that hackers tend to exploit — and how can companies start addressing them right away?” These discussions highlighted the urgency for holistic cyber preparedness and the growing interest in offensive-informed defense strategies.
This collaboration reinforces Innovation Academy’s commitment to equipping professionals with forward-thinking digital skills, empowering leaders to champion cyber intelligence and preparedness across their organizations.
