On September 10, 2025, the College of the Marshall Islands (CMI) and Innovation Academy officially entered a new chapter of collaboration through a virtual Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing. This milestone formalizes a strategic partnership aimed at advancing global education and empowering educators and learners with world-class training opportunities.
The two institutions signed two key agreements:
- The “Train to Sustain” Program, which focuses on providing CMI faculty with specialized IT training and certifications to strengthen teaching methodologies and Tech literacy.
- An exclusivity agreement establishing Innovation Academy as CMI’s official IT training provider, ensuring long-term access to high-quality, technology-driven learning solutions.
These agreements underscore CMI’s commitment to equipping its faculty with relevant, future-ready skills and Innovation Academy’s mission to extend its reach beyond borders, delivering accessible, high-quality training to partners worldwide. Together, these initiatives aim to prepare educators to thrive in today’s fast-evolving technological landscape while fostering sustainable growth in education.
Kenneth Masuhay, Head of Innovation Academy, shared his thoughts on the significance of this collaboration:
“This partnership is a proud step forward in our vision of making learning more accessible, impactful, and globally competitive. By joining forces with CMI, we are not only delivering quality education but also empowering educators to embrace innovation and unlock greater growth opportunities.”
Adding his voice to the celebration, CMI President David Newnham expressed strong support for the partnership:
“Professional development is paramount—for our faculty, for our nation, for our culture, and for the College. When our faculty do well, our students do well, and when our students do well, our faculty do well. This partnership reflects our commitment to that principle. I am grateful to Innovation Academy for your sustainable approach to learning and teaching. I believe in that, and I look forward to the positive value this collaboration will bring.”
The virtual signing marks the beginning of a meaningful alliance built on shared goals of academic advancement and educational transformation. Both CMI and Innovation Academy are confident that this partnership will foster stronger learning ecosystems, benefiting not only the institutions directly involved but also the communities they serve.
As Innovation Academy continues to expand its global impact, this collaboration with CMI reinforces its dedication to shaping the future of education through technology-driven training and development.
